Library Launches Program Where Patrons Pay Fees with Cat Photos

  • The Worcester Public Library in Worcester, Mass. has launched a unique program for any patrons that have accrued library fees or have lost or damaged books or other items.
  • Aptly called March Meowness, patrons with deactivated library cards due to fees or lost/damaged materials can have their cards reactivated by bringing in cat photos.
  • These photos can be photos, drawings or even photos cut from a newspaper or magazine.
  • Worcester Public Library director Jason Homer said about 400 patrons have had their accounts reactivated thanks to the program.
  • Do you take advantage of your local city library?
