UC Berkeley's peregrine falcon Annie has successfully hatched four chicks on the Campanile, marking her most successful breeding season yet.
The fourth chick surprised many by hatching today, joining its siblings that emerged earlier in the week.
Annie's mate, Archie, has been praised for his active role in caring for the chicks, with experts noting his attentive behavior.
The chicks will be banded in mid-May and will take their first flights at around six weeks old, providing a hopeful sight amidst a challenging year for peregrines due to the bird flu outbreak in the Bay Area.
